What is fen2img?

fen2img is a utility for making chess diagrams.

Features of fen2img

• Coded in Standard ML (SML), and ported to the MLton, Poly/ML and Moscow ML compilers.
• Reads in chess positions in FEN notation.
• Outputs diagrams in PPM image format.
• The program is used to power the Gilith chess diagram generator.

Project Status

fen2img is in maintainance mode: the latest version is fen2img 1.1 (release 20180810), Users are encouraged to try out or adapt fen2img for their own applications. fen2img is free software, released under the MIT License.
